Position: UPS Rental Electronic Technician Assistant
Location: Ridley Park, PA
This is an entry-level position for electronic/electrical technical services in the SurePower Uninterrupted Power Source (UPS) rental systems division and is for a person desiring a career path as a UPS Electronic Technician. Responsible for assisting with the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of UPS systems and the construction of pre-engineered trailer mounted UPS rentals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under Technician supervision, develops skills required to perform routine preventive maintenance, calibration and minor repairs to a variety of SurePower equipment.
Helps UPS Electronic Technicians with routine equipment repairs and testing.
Assists Electronic Technicians in performing more complex repairs.
Performs basic operations using test equipment and industrial controllers required to test and calibrate equipment.
Learns to interpret electronic and mechanical drawings with guidance to assist in diagnosis and equipment repair.
Prepare materials and equipment required for project.
Uses various hand tools, test equipment as needed on the job site.
Maintains compliance with all OSHA, Sure Power, Inc., and customer safety requirements and policies.
Consults with supervisor/technician concerning problems and developments
Completes work with a focus on quality and a sense of urgency.
Completes service reports within a timely manner
Ability to interact with all levels of internal employees and customers.
Must participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma with Trade School Certificate or similar military training in electrical related field or equivalent training. 1+ year(s) electronic trouble shooting experience required. Valid driver’s license required. Mechanical/technical aptitude. Demonstrated focus on safety and quality. Operates with honesty and integrity. Reliable and able to work independently even under pressure. Good organization, time management, communication and problem-solving skills. Strong team work and collaboration skills. Ability to travel regionally and overnight. Ability to work overtime, nights and weekends as needed. Ability to lift up 100 lbs. as needed.
Position: UPS Rental Sales Engineer
Location: Ridley Park, PA
The Sales Engineer will generate new business, maintain existing accounts, and increase sales and market share through the use of various channels. Responsibilities include generating sale of UPS systems, rentals, batteries, chargers, and services. Will perform forecasting, quoting, order write ups, and meeting or exceeding all targets established. This position will also be responsible for conferring with the Project Manager for specifying, estimating, influencing, closing, and executing orders of equipment and systems resulting in the development and support of key accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Visit prospective buyers at commercial, industrial, or other establishments to inform them about products, services, pricing, availability, and advantages.
Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations for specific customer requirements that explain products or services to customers and prospective customers.
Provides prospect/customer with complete solutions proposal, including price quotations.
Develop, present, and/or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements.
Collaborate with the Install team to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.
Create, maintain, and enhance relationships with key personnel for product development and sales.
Maintains contact with all clients to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
Receives and resolves customer complaints and problems in a timely manner.
Provides inbound market information on customer requests, trends, competitor activities and pricing
Research and identify potential customers for products or services.
Attend trade shows, conferences, meetings, and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments.
Develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, email, and networking.
Document account activities, generate reports, and keep records of business transactions with customers and suppliers.
Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, follow-up activities supporting a 12-month forecast updated on a quarterly basis.
Understand and support sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective treatment to all customers.
Participates and contributes to the development of educational programs offered to clients and prospects.
Proactively establishes and maintains effective working team relationships with all support departments.
Continuously identifies, measures, follows, and improves marketing, sales, and engineering quality processes.
Participate in company training programs as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
College degree, preferably a B.S. in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Sales/Marketing or equivalent work experience coupled with 5+ years’ experience in technical sales. UPS experience highly desirable. Principle understanding of electrical power systems, design principles, and operational techniques. Experience selling to industrial and commercial organizations. Excellent presentation skills. Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills. Ability to travel as required. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
