Field Service Technician Assistant

Division: Operations
Position: Field Service Technician Assistant

Location: Ridley Park, PA

Summary

Supports the Field Service Technician in the installation, maintenance and replacement of batteries and equipment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists Technicians with installing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance to equipment, such as, flooded and sealed batteries, chargers cable trays, battery racks and power cables.

Prepares material and equipment required for each job assignment.

Drives, loads, and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.

Operates equipment, such as: pallet jack, battery lift, etc. 

Maintains a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.

Places batteries on racks or in trays.

Installs battery cables and hardware.

Conducts all activity in a safe manner by adhering to policies and procedure, such as, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and warranty.

Must participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company.                                                                                                                                                                                  

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent, Electrical trade school preferred. Requires basic mechanical aptitude. Basic knowledge of electricity a plus. Ability to follow directions. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record. Ability and willingness to travel to job sites, do overnight travel, and work nights and weekends, as needed. Basic computer proficiency. Must be able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment and lift up to 75lbs. on a regular basis. Have basic computer skills.

PM Technician

Division: Preventive Maintenance

Position: PM Technician

Location: Ridley Park, PA

Summary

To perform all maintenance duties in the field and administrative requirements associated with each job. To provide the highest customer service standards & relations expected from customers and management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conducts preventative maintenance tests (voltages, resistances, specific gravity, and temperatures) throughout the life of the battery.

Establishes baseline ranges and tracks and analyzes the readings to detect trouble spots.

Troubleshoots low/high readings and make notes.

Reviews the readings to determine any inconsistent readings that need an explanation.

Prepares preliminary site Preventative Maintenance reports.

Communicates with the clients the preliminary PM results and any immediate actions needed after conferring with Maintenance Manager.

Uploads readings & detailed reports to all appropriate destinations.

Resolves any client preventative maintenance related issues.

Provides technical expertise to management, technicians, and customers where appropriate.

Assists with the battery installations and other service duties as schedule dictates.

Track PM contracts and schedule with customers accordingly.                                                                                                                                                                               

Must participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma, Trade, Vocational or Military School certificate preferred, coupled with 2+ years of experience in related (electrical) field. Prior Battery Tech experience preferred. Experience and knowledge of the battery industry highly desired.   Knowledge of or ability to learn all of the test equipment associated with the preventative maintenance duties, Alber Battery Analysis software and Alber BCT 2000 software. Knowledge of or ability to learn all systems. Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to prepare reports to submit to Maintenance Manager for review. Ability to work independently and/or work with or lead a crew. Mentor other Technicians as needed. Strong general knowledge computer skills. Ability to maintain focus during some tedious testing and visual inspections. Good attention to detail a must while working and completing duties efficiently. Understanding the importance and proper use of PPE. Respect for the customer, equipment, and site policies (safety, security, etc.).  Properly use and take care of Sure   Power test equipment. Project and maintain a professional demeanor to customers and fellow employees. Valid driver license.
